Biography

Professional

Dr. Rogers' reasons for becoming a physician are two-fold: first, she has always loved science. Second, she appreciates the connections that being a physician allows her to make.

"I have always been drawn to science and understanding how things work. However, I also really enjoy connecting with people and helping others on a personal level. Medicine is a perfect blend of these interests and I truly love my job."

Coming to work every day isn't a challenge for Dr. Rogers, which reinforces her belief that she chose the perfect profession.

"I work with a great group of people so I really enjoy being in my office. One of the biggest privileges of being a physician is just being a part of my patients lives. I get to help people feel better when they are sick, comfort them when they are down, watch their children grow, and share in their experiences."

And one of Dr. Rogers' top goals for her role as a family doctor? To make sure patients have all of the information they need about their health, so they leave their appointment feeling confident in their care.

"What I like to explain to my patients is that I want them to feel empowered about their health conditions.  I help my patients understand their health and things they can do on their own as well as medications or therapies that could be helpful.  I want my patients to be able to make informed decisions about their health rather than feel lost or confused, so I encourage questions and I do my best to explain things thoroughly."

Personal

Animal lover - those two words perfectly sum up Dr. Rogers and what she enjoys outside of work.

"I am an avid horse enthusiast and when I am not at work, you are most likely to find me at the barn! I have loved horses and horseback riding for as long as I can remember. I currently own two wonderful Morgan horses and during the summer I enjoy competing with them. My love of animals doesn't stop at horses, though! I also have an English Bulldog named Russell who comes to work with me and can be found napping in my office or begging for treats! He is a fan favorite of staff and patients alike."

You can even get a glimpse of Russell in Dr. Rogers' video on this page. And there's more - her interests don't stop there. Dr. Rogers also loves being outdoors, and has spent time studying abroad doing just that.

"I am a graduate of the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS). I completed a 3 month semester abroad camping in rural Kenya, learning outdoor survival, leave no trace camping skills, navigation and leadership."
